This set includes 25 Bloodstone Rune stones, each engraved with the ancient Runic alphabet, patterned after the Germanic Elder Futhark Runes. Each stone is gold-painted and polished to a semi-precious finish. You’ll receive 24 engraved stones and 1 plain stone, along with a pouch to keep your runes safe and organized.
Bloodstone, also known as Heliotrope, has a rich history of use for healing and protection. Its connection to blood and detoxification dates back five thousand years to Mesopotamia. Heliotrope was used in many cultures by dipping it in cold water and placing it on the body to aid circulation and transfer the power of the sun to prevent injury or disease, stop the flow of blood, or cure any wound. Its coagulant effect was renowned, and ancient warriors often carried Heliotrope as an amulet of protection and courage, as well as its practical applications.
Ground, powdered, and mixed with honey, Bloodstone was used to cure tumors, draw out snake venom, and staunch hemorrhages. It was said to clear putrefaction of abscesses in a day, and simply looking at the Bloodstone was believed to prevent eye diseases.
Each Bloodstone Rune stone in this set is tumbled and engraved to a size between 10mm to 20mm. The set includes a variety of sizes, with weights ranging from 90-120g for the small stones up to 200-210g for the extra large stones. The color of these tumbled stones is primarily green and red, giving each stone a unique and vibrant appearance.
